What a difference from one day to another. Yesterday was beautiful. We even took a nice long walk in the afternoon. I carried my jacket. We certainly didn't need to wear it.
This morning it was in the 50's when we got up. By the time we were finished with breakfast, there was an inch of snow and it was definately colder.
The Church where our sale was suppose to be today, is about 10 miles away. By the time we got there, we probably had 3 - 4" of snow. The roads were getting pretty slick. You really couldn't see very far in front of you. We decided to go back while we still could. One customer showed up as we were leaving. He followed us back to the KOA camp to buy his food and books. We let the Church members know where we were staying. We had several stop by and shop. So it took us all day to have a 2 hour sale.
By evening the snow had pretty much melted. Lots of hardy flowers showing their brave little faces in this weather.
We finished up in the trailer around 9:00 tonight. It's starting to snow again. I don't know if Jim will be able to get over the mountains tomorrow. We already postponed our noon sale.
I'm flying to Kansas tomorrow for my aunt's funeral. I'll fly out of Salt Lake City to Kansas City. Then I will fly back to Denver. Jim should be there by then. He'll have a couple sales by himself. I guess that is why he is the boss and I'm the bossed.
When Jeff's mother and father-in-law, Rick and Darla Weigel, found out that my flight was scheduled to leave around 4:00 P.M. and Jim needed leave around 6:00 A.M., they invited us to stay at their house tonight, so I wouldn't have to set around the airport for 8 hours before flying for 4 hours. If that didn't work, Rick was willing to pick me up at 6:00 in the morning and take me to their house. Then Darla would take me to the airport in the early afternoon. We are so blessed to have such wonderful friends and family. I hope that we can be that kind of friend to others. We realized before bedtime that Jim won't be able to leave in the morning. It would be to risky.
It'll be a few days before I get to write again, because of my trip. The good news is that I'll get to see my children, 3 grandchildren, brother, sisters and a couple nephews. Too bad that Aunt Ruth can't enjoy all the people that are coming.
I want to have my funeral service at least a week before I die, so I can enjoy visiting with family and friends. If anyone can do this, I bet that I can!
